From your song

Lock in with the kick drum.

Drumdeck reads the bass part of your Guitar Pro file, finds the key and the chords, and turns them into grooves to practice – with a drum beat that plays along.

  • The song’s sections – original notation and tab, slowed down, looped.
  • Your tuning – four or five strings, as in your file.
  • Drums along – rock beat, four on the floor, hi-hat only or the real drum part of the song.

Grooves over the chords

Root, fifth, octave – then walk.

Every groove runs over the chord progression of your song: root in quarters and eighths, root and fifth, disco octaves, arpeggios and approach notes that lead to the next chord.

  • Plucking hand shown – index and middle finger alternating.
  • Bass clef and tab together, the playing note highlighted.
  • Tap any note – string, fret, note name and how to play it.

“Big tab”: four strings, big fret numbers – readable from five feet away.

Scales & finger exercises

In the key of the song.

Pentatonics, major, minor and blues scales in one position, up and down, plus chromatic exercises – all in the key Drumdeck found in your song.

  • Eighths, triplets, thirds and groups of four.
  • Finger numbers for the fretting hand under every note.
  • Chromatic exercises for strength and independence.

Rhythm & timing

The groove lives between the notes.

Eighths with ghost notes, the gallop, steady sixteenths, offbeats only, short staccato quarters, the shuffle and the subdivision ladder.

  • Metronome with accents on every subdivision, click gaps and a speed trainer.
  • Count the rounds – play it 25 times, then check it off.
  • Mark the hard notes – they pulse in purple when they come.
  • Your own part – in a band session you see your own chart on your phone or tablet, the drummer counts in for everyone.

Ghost notes: the beat clear, the “and” only hinted.

Questions

Where do the bass parts come from?

From your own Guitar Pro files. Drumdeck doesn’t sell or share charts.

Four or five strings?

Both – the exercises use the tuning in your song’s file.

Is this a different app?

No – it’s Drumdeck. Choose bass in the practice room or in the band session.
